In the same way that children are taught about the dangers of this world, so we are told, by God, about spiritual dangers. In fact, God says that unless we choose to trust him, and come to him, as children, we can't come to him at all.

"Some people brought children to Jesus for him to place his hands on them, but the disciples scolded the people. When Jesus noiced this, he was angry and said to his disciples,'Let the children come to me, and do not stop them, because the Kingdom of God belongs to such as these. I assure you that whoever does not receive the Kingdom of God like a child will never enter it.' Then he took the children in his arms, placed his hands on each of them, and blessed them."

-Mark 10:13-16

God has been careful to warn us of what to look for, and has told us to be ready for all kinds of deception. Deception will be rampant when the anti-Christ comes. The Bible is very clear about this.

"The Wicked One will come with the power of Satan and perform all kinds of false miracles and wonders, and use every kind of wicked deception on those who will perish. They will perish becauese they did not welcome and love the truth so as to be saved. And so God sends the power of error to work in them so that they believe what is false. The result is that all who have not believed the truth, but have taken pleasure in sin, will be condemned."

-2nd Thessalonians 2:9-12

So what does deception look like? Should it be illogical, or unpopular? It wouldn't be effective deception if it were. Just as a child is taught that "strangers" don't always wear all black and have mustaches, we should remember that deceit is meant to be convincing. That's another reason why God tells us to trust him no matter what -- even when it's unpopular, or doesn't make sense. So if God says that one plus one equals three, then I am safe to believe it. He has the power to make it so anyway -- Even though I am unable to comprehend it.

I've witnessed many spiritual discussions, and it's often very popular to put logic above God. Many people say, "I'm a Christian, but I don't think that God wants us to follow him without thinking. He gave us brains for a reason."

The problem with this statement is that God does tell us to trust him beyond our own understanding. When we give logic more authority than God, we not only disobey God, but we make ourselves easy targets for the Devil. The Devil is a master manipulator. So what do you suppose he will do with the person who believes that their own logic, no matter how sound it may be, is more trustworthy than God? When a person puts logic before God, or even evidence before God, all the Devil has to do is provide sufficient logic, or evidence, that is strong enough to deceive the believer.

God's word is not silent about this. The following verse is probably the most popular one pertaining to this subject.

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart. Never rely on what you think you know. Remember the Lord in everything you do, and he will show you the right way. Never let yourself think that you are wiser than you are; simply obey the Lord and refuse to do wrong."

-Proverbs 3:5-7

So, yes -- If God says that he created the world and all of its creatures in six days, then he did it in six days. This is the mindset of one who pleases God. It's not popular today, though. Most people are willing to put logic, and evidence, before God.
