So Jesus openly declares that the Devil is a liar. The Devil is also called Satan in various places in the Bible; a name which regards him as "Man's opponent".

Now, what does the Bible say about God being wiser than humans, and that no one knows his mind? A few different portions of scripture talk about this:

"'My thoughts,' says the Lord, 'are not like yours, and my ways are different from yours. As high as the heavens are above the earth, so are my ways and thoughts above yours.'"

-Isaiah 55:8-9

"For what this world considers to be wisdom is nonsense in God's sight. As the scripture says, 'God traps the wise in their cleverness'; and another scripture says, 'The Lord knows that the thoughts of the wise are worthless.'"

-1st Corinthians 3:19-20

"Whenever I tried to become wise and learn what goes on in the world, I realized that you could stay awake night and day and never be able to understand what God is doing. However hard you try, you will never find out. Wise men may claim to know, but they don't."

-Ecclesiastes 8:16-17

Now, lets think of all of these things combined concerning their ramifications on the world that we know. What does the world look like if we believe these three statements that are often widely accepted? Once again, the three statements are:

The Devil is a liar

God is wiser than humans

No one knows the mind of God

Because the Devil is a liar, we can expect that the Devil will attack mankind by virtue of lies and deception. So when we see vast deception in our world, especially pertaining to things of a spiritual nature, should we be surprised? Just look at the world today, and then look at what God says about the world.

The theory of evolution is one of the greatest forms of deception that immediately comes to mind. God clearly says that he created the universe, and explains in what order he did it, and how long it took. The Bible says that God made all kinds of different animals and that he created humans separately, and that humans are not animals. However, the view of evolution says that man is a creature that evolved from animals. If the Devil really is a liar and is trying to destroy the world by virtue of deceit, should it shock anyone that a theory, (which is in complete opposition to what God says happened -- and is therefore, a lie), ends up being so popular in the world? If the Devil is a master manipulator, should we expect anything less?
