Could even the president of the United States, who is arguably the most powerful, and influential, person in the world, write a law that would drastically change the world thousands of years from now? What would he have to do in order to get everyone on the planet to willingly reference all of time to the birth of his wife? Many times, U.S. presidents can't even negotiate temporary peace agreements between just two nations. So how could he get the entire world to agree to reference all of time to the birth of his wife? Even if everyone had nothing against the first lady, certainly not every country would agree to something so drastic if she was just ordinary. It just isn't realistic.

If you ever start to believe that this is normal behavior for the entire world, just ask yourself. Would the world ever reference all of time to your birth because you simply made some publicly wise statements? A lot of people in that day, didn't even consider Jesus' statements to be wise. Some of them called him crazy. However, no one doubted that he was great or special.

However, if a man was born and started healing thousands of people miraculously, and was raising people from the dead -- those actions would be great enough to warrant such fame. It makes sense to me. But why doesn't it make sense to everyone? Why does common logic fail on some, but work on others?

Here's another question. I just overheard two people talking about how silly Christians are, and how foolish it is for anyone to believe in the Biblical account of creation. Humans evolved from monkeys, right?

Evolution is a widely accepted theory that is taught as fact in many schools. But why is that? Why is evolution deemed to be such a credible theory, to the point of being called fact, when scientists and archaeologists have trouble finding even a few missing evolutionary links that should be scattered everywhere? I mean, if people evolved from lesser organisms, and if the theory states that this process was so slow that it took millions of years, then the theory demands that we would have tons of transitional fossils that show this slow progression. We shouldn't find five or six fossils, or even a hundred. And finding such a fossil shouldn't be newsworthy. We should have found a countless number of them. In fact, the transitional fossils should be so numerous and blended, that it would be difficult to put most of them into different classes of separate species. But this is nowhere near the case in reality.

It's true that evolution takes place within different species. But if it were responsible for the origin of mankind and of the entire animal kingdom, the fossil record would be incredibly, undeniably blended. It would be so blended that classifying animals into different species would be difficult -- So difficult that it's debatable as to whether or not we even would have done it.

The fact that there aren't countless "missing links", or transitional fossils, scattered throughout the earth's crust should have caused the theory of evolution to be discarded a long time ago. So why is it still around? Why is it being taught as fact, and accepted as true in social intellectual circles, with this gaping hole in the theory? Common logic should have discounted the theory of evolution several decades ago. So what happened? Why did logic fail?

I know why logic fails in these circumstances, and I know why it will continue to fail as time goes on. The reason for the failure is true, but it won't be liked, or accepted, by many of the popular intellectuals of this day.

Just as the Bible explains why Jesus is so popular, it also explains why logic fails on the minds of so many people today.

Now, I know that many people head for the hills and close their minds once the "B" word is mentioned. However, the Bible does explain why logic fails and why people choose to think the way they do. In a nutshell, it says that the Devil deceives many people by keeping their minds in the dark. It also declares that many people will regard God's wisdom as foolishness. This is exactly what happens in this world today.

The following are two passages, taken directly from the Bible, that say what I'm talking about:

"For if the gospel we preach is hidden, it is hidden only from those who are being lost. They do not believe because their minds have been kept in the dark by the evil god of this world. He keeps them from seeing the light shining on them, the light that comes from the Good News about the glory of Christ, who is the exact likeness of God."

-2nd Corinthians 4:3-4

"For the message about Christ's death on the cross is nonsense to those who are being lost; but for us who are being saved it is God's power. The scripture says, 'I will destroy the wisdom of the wise and set aside the understanding of the scholars.' So then, where does that leave the wise? or the scholars? or the skillful debaters of this world? God has shown that this world's wisdom is foolishness!

For God in his wisdom made it impossible for people to know him by means of their own wisdom. Instead, by means of the so-called 'foolish' message we preach, God decided to save those who believe. Jews want miracles for proof, and Greeks look for wisdom. As for us, we proclaim the crucified Christ, a message that is offensive to the Jews and nonsense to the Gentiles; but for those whom God has called, both Jews and Gentiles, this message is Christ, who is the power of God and the wisdom of God. For what seems to be God's foolishness is wiser than human wisdom, and what seems to be God's weakness is stronger than human strength.

Now remember what you were, my brothers, when God called you. From the human point of view few of you were wise or powerful or of high social standing. God purposely chose what the world considers nonsense in order to shame the wise, and he chose what the world considers weak in order to shame the powerful. He chose what the world looks down on and despises and thinks is nothing, in order to destroy what the world thinks is important. This means that no one can boast in God's presence. But God has brought you into union with Christ Jesus, and God has made Christ to be our wisdom. By him we are put right with God; we become God's holy people and are set free. So then, as the scripture says, 'Whoever wants to boast must boast of what the Lord has done.'"
